Bruce County - Ontario's Natural Retreat
Visit the Official Travel Site of Bruce County. Located only 2 ½ hours northwest of Toronto, the ‘Bruce’ as it’s known locally is bordered by Lake Huron, Georgian Bay and the Niagara Escarpment. There are over 850 kilometres (531 miles) of coastline to explore. This website contains information on our world class attractions such as: Sunsets, The Bruce Trail, Bruce Peninsula National Park, Fathom Five National Marine Park, Sauble Beach, Flowerpot Island, Saugeen River, Port Elgin, Kincardine, Lighthouse Tours, Motorcycle Tours, Bruce Peninsula Mountain Bike Adventure Park, Tobermory and much more.
Chantry Island Lighthouse
The Marine Heritage Society manages the Chantry Island Light Station under agreements and restrictions from the Canadian Coast Guard and the Canadian Wildlife Service. The Light Station is part of the National bird sanctuary that extends 180 meters out into the water. The sanctuary is one of the most important migratory bird nesting places south of James Bay.
Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs
The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs is dedicated to providing strong leadership and support to member clubs and volunteers, to establishing and maintaining quality snowmobile trails which are used in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, and to furthering the enjoyment of organized snowmobiling.
Ride Grey Bruce
Ride Grey Bruce, Ontario, Canada this winter. As part of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs District 9, has over 2,400 km (1,500 miles) of groomed trails. Bordered by Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, you can snowmobile to such great places as Sauble Beach, Bruce Peninsula, Walkerton, Owen Sound, Durham, and Beaver Valley. Known as the land of the snow squall, Grey Bruce gets tons of snow from December to March. The local clubs maintain and groom all the trails to perfection. Be sure to thank a volunteer.
Saugeen First Nation
The Saugeen First Nation No. 29 can be found on the shores of the beautiful Lake Huron at the base of the Bruce Peninsula. We are located 2 miles Northeast of Southampton and approximately 18 miles west of Owen Sound on Highway 21. Saugeen is also conveniently located within 2 - 3 hours of major centres such as Toronto, Barrie, Kitchener, London, and Sarnia.
